-- Glass and Ceramics.
1. Key concepts that i have learned from the Glass and Ceramics video was the fact that glass is made from sand and in the process of making the glass, you have to fire it multiple times in order to get it hard enough to not break.
2. The video shares the same info from the text in relation to the fact that when glass is melted, it can be manipulated into many different shapes and using many different methods.
3. This video was actually really good. I learned a lot of new things that i had no idea about pertaining to glass and the different types that there are for different purposes. I would actually be interested in knowing more. As well as experience making glass one day after watching this video!
-- Through the eyes of the sculptor.
1. Key concepts that I learned from the sculptor video is that a figure is considered an intimate final work of a sculptor, as well as the idea that feeling is used to carve life into shape. I thought that was really cool.
2. The video relates to the text in a way that they both discuss the specific processes of how to create a sculpture. Such as casting, molding, carving, etc. As well as how the human figure is meant to be portrayed,
3. In the video, the Artist Emmanuel Fillion says the process becomes real when it is first visualized in your head and I can honestly agree with that. A good piece can only come from a very active thought process. Without a process or an idea, you work can lack meaning or inspiration. The video opened my mind up to a lot that I definitely did not know before. Sculpture is definitely the main thing in art that I don't know a lot about so it was great to learn new things,
